We are delighted once again to host this popular event after a three-year hiatus.
The dinner will be on Thursday, May 18, 5:30 pm, in the Gallery at Guilford Art Center, 411 Church Street, Guilford. Gallery One will be holding an exhibit of their members’ work at that time so we will be able to appreciate their art while enjoying our dinner.
We invite—actually, we encourage—all GAL members to attend, and we extend a special invitation to new members to come and meet your fellow artists.
Please RSVP! Call or email Sheila at 203.645.8827 or Sheila.email@example.com if you plan to attend so we know how many tables and chairs to set up in the gallery.
We will supply wine and soft drinks, while you, the members, will bring the food. Please bring appetizers, main dishes, or desserts that can be shared.
In conjunction with the supper, we will have a business meeting to discuss the future of the art league, so again we encourage everyone to attend. This invitation is an impassioned plea for HELP in reinvigorating the Guilford Art League! We need to set up an active board to take charge of our exhibitions, programs, membership, treasury, communications with members, and other organizational functions and leadership roles.
If you are willing to help with board development, please plan to attend the supper or contact Sheila at 203.645.8827 or Sheila.firstname.lastname@example.org.
Other news . . .
The spring show has been installed in the Guilford Community Center, so do pop in to take a look. It will be up until July 7. A selection of the pictures can be seen on our website guilfordartleague.org.
The Zahn Gallery at the Middlesex Medical Center in Westbrook is giving our members a show this summer. I have a list of 22 members who have expressed in interest in showing would their work. If you would also like to be part of this exhibit, please let me know. The show will run through June, July and August, and is an excellent exhibition space; sales are frequent too!
Our second member show will be in July at Madison’s Scranton Library.
We look forward to seeing you all on May 18!
