To celebrate its expanded exhibit space at the Guilford Community Center, the Guilford Art League invites the public to an Opening Reception of its Winter Show on Friday, February 3, 4-6 p.m., in the Leete Room.
The Guilford Art League has presented seasonal exhibits of members’ work at the Guilford Community Center for many years. The 2nd floor Menunkatuck Room, used daily by a wide variety of community groups, has been the main exhibit space. The staff at the center has reported that the artwork is greatly appreciated, such that they recently asked the GAL to extend the exhibits into the stairwell and downstairs hallway, where even more people will see them.
The Winter Show will be on display through Mid-April. The shows change every three months. Most of the works shown—in a wide variety of mediums—are for sale. The event is free and open to the public.
The Guilford Art League was founded in 1947 by a small group of local artists. The objective of the art league is to promote and stimulate interest in the visual arts. Members and associates of the Guilford Art League are a participating and interactive group of artists who learn and benefit from their association with one another.
