The Guilford Art League welcomes exhibiting artists for its 74th Annual Juried Exhibit & Sale to be held in The Gallery at Guilford Art Center from September 12 – October 1, 2022. The show, juried by Jeanne Ciravolo, is open to Connecticut artists working in all media including oils, watercolor, pastels, acrylics, sculpture, collage, mixed media, printmaking, and photography. Several monetary prizes and notable awards will be announced at the Opening Reception on Friday, September 16, 5-7pm.
Jeanne Ciravolo earned her MFA and was awarded the Joan and George Cole Master of Fine Arts Award at UConn in 2019. In 2020 she received the Walter Feldman Fellowship, which was juried by Ellen Tani, Assistant Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. Her work has been exhibited nationally in museums and galleries and published in Manifest Gallery International Painting Annual 10. She is an Assistant Professor in Residence and Director of the Alexey von Schlippe Gallery at the University of Connecticut. “I don’t have any particular characteristics that I’m looking for, I am open to all forms of exceptional artworks: abstract, representational, conceptual.”
Artists are invited to enter up to two pieces of art. Entry fees for GAL members are $12 for one entry, $20 for two; non-members pay $18 for one entry, $30 for two. Entries must be delivered to the Gallery at Guilford Art Center (411 Church Street, Guilford, CT 06437) on Saturday, September 10 between 10am and 1pm. Accepted works will be posted on the GAL website by September 13.
The Guilford Art League was founded in 1947 by a small group of local artists. The objective of the art league is to promote and stimulate interest in the visual arts. Members and associates of the Guilford Art League are a participating and interactive group of artists who learn and benefit from their association with one another.
