Happy 2022, GAL members!
Well, let’s hope that a new year will mean a more normal year! We can only hope.
Membership Dues
One business item first…It’s time to pay your 2022 membership dues (a few members have already paid, so, obviously, no need to pay again). Dues are $20 for associate members and $25 for full members (anyone who has been accepted into at least one juried show). If you aren’t sure of your status, contact Denise at dencasey@comcast.net or 203-453-1609.
Mail your checks to:

P.O. Box 646
Guilford CT 06437
If you have changed your contact info, please include the updates with your check (email address, mailing address, phone numbers).
Member Shows
In the spirit of hope for the new year, we are going ahead with plans for two member shows—one in March in the Guilford Library and one in June in the Scranton Library. The March show will be March 1–31; we will send out details about drop off, etc., in due course.
As we have done in the last few shows, the March show will have a theme—“Let’s Face It.” It’s not necessary to enter a piece based on this theme, but we welcome any interpretation that you may come up with.
Menunkatuck Room Exhibit
The current show was installed at the Guilford Community Center on December 9 by Sandy Kensler and Joan McPherson, our new coordinators, with help from other GAL members. It will remain on exhibit until March 10. This is an excellent opportunity to exhibit your work to Guilford and Shoreline residents, and we encourage you bring in your work for the next show.
GAL Website
We are pleased to report that our newly revamped website is up and running, thanks to Words by Jen. Take a look at guilfordartleague.org.
On the Menu under the image of Sandy Kensler’s collage Cathedral Woods — first-prize winner at last September’s juried show — are pages with more information: About, Exhibitions, Membership, News & Events, and Contact. Prospectuses for upcoming shows, news releases, exhibition details, photos, a list of members and a membership application form—in short, everything you want to know about the Guilford Art League—will be easy to find.
We also thank GAL member Polly Castor for setting up and maintaining our original website for several years.
EXPO 2022
We are still awaiting confirmation that the Guilford Art Center will hold its EXPO event this year. If so, we will once again present our popular annual exhibit on the Guilford Green in July. We encourage you to consider showing and selling your work in this fun three-day event.
We look forward to seeing everyone at receiving for the member show in March!
