Outdoor show on the Green – July 18 – 20, 2025
Jodi has not received many applications to the outdoor show on the green in July. If we don’t get more members signed up we may have to cancel because the cost of hiring the tent and security guard may not be covered by the fees and commissions that we receive. This would be a great pity as we have been doing this even before the Guilford Art Center had their EXPO. Please sign up asap – details from Jodi at jodim@att.net or 732-310-6233.
Community Center Show
The next show will be installed in the Guilford Community Center on Tuesday, July 1, 2–2:30 pm. Please pick up any work that has been shown there during the last 3 months and drop off one or two pieces of new work which will be up until October. A separate announcement with a link to the entry tag will be sent out soon.
Annual Supper – May 22, 2025
We had our annual dinner in the Guilford Art Center Gallery, where there was a great show which included several GAL members’ works.
The turnout was smaller than we hoped, maybe because it was a rainy evening. But I think all who attended enjoyed the delicious food and Len Kaczmarek’s guitar music.
Member Show – March 1 – 30, 2025
This was a great show! We had 62 pieces in the show and a very well attended reception on March 6.
Annual Juried Show
The juror for this year’s show will be Laura Leonard who is currently the Art Bridges Project Coordinator and Curatorial Researcher at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford. “She collaboratively organizes small and mid-sized traveling exhibitions, conducts research on permanent collection objects, develops exhibition ideas and content, and explores new methods of object interpretation” (lauraleonard.art).

Receiving: Saturday, September 6, 10 am–1 pm
Reception: Friday, September 12, 5–6:30 pm
Pickup: Sunday, September 28, 12–3 pm

We’re reaching out to invite you to help celebrate and support local artists by sponsoring an award for the Guilford Art League’s Annual Juried Art Show. Your donation will directly recognize and encourage outstanding artistic talent in our community. You can name your award however you want: it can be in honor of someone special, in memory of a loved one, or in tribute to a favorite artist or art style—for example, “The Georgia O’Keeffe Award for Excellence in Botanical Art” or “In Memory of John Smith, Lover of Abstract Expressionism.”
Your award can reflect what you care about most in the arts, whether that’s a specific medium, subject matter, or simply a general appreciation for creativity. Award amounts typically start at $50, and all sponsors will be recognized in the show program and on award labels displayed during the exhibit.
